LubConsult Recommendation

Which oil should I use for my vehicle ?

Type of oil :

Mineral oil: Suitable for older engines and offers basic protection.

Semi-synthetic oil: A compromise between mineral oil and synthetic oil, offering better performance.

Synthetic oil: Ideal for modern engines, it offers excellent protection and wear resistance.

Viscosity :

The viscosity of the oil is essential to ensure optimum lubrication. Numbers such as 5W-30 or 10W-40 indicate viscosity at different temperatures. The first number (5W or 10W) represents low-temperature (winter) viscosity, while the second number (30 or 40) indicates high-temperature (summer) viscosity. Choose the viscosity recommended by your vehicle manufacturer to ensure smooth engine operation.

Specifications and approvals :

Check the specifications and approvals required for your engine. API (American Petroleum Institute) and ACEA (Association des Constructeurs Européens d'Automobiles) standards are essential. Make sure the oil you choose meets your vehicle's performance and protection requirements.

Oil change frequency :

Follow the oil change intervals recommended by the manufacturer. A quality oil will keep your engine running at its best.
The frequency may vary depending on your type of driving (city, motorway, etc.). Consult your owner's manual for specific advice.
